Let me know if there's any other info you want. This HOWTO disables certain features, and lowers the quality of colors to get direct rendering to work. OK, so now mobllity got some dandy Mesa stuff. I do not remember ever installing and lsmod grep flgrx didn't show it, but after following this guide 3d started to work. I only got that error message trying different depths Recovery mode runs without the splash, and with as radeno noise as mobulity.
I had to add a few things and change from the default 'ati' driver to 'radeon'. The other thing to note is that I compiled and installed libdrm September 1, - Thanks to Eladan Added a paragraph and note after the "apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dri", etc.
Why don't you use the "radeon" driver instead of the "ati" driver? Thanks for pointing that out as well. I'll look into this further. Screen 0 is not DRI capable So Did you run this command? With this setup I have no 3D acceleration:
